Chronic Pain and Neuropathic Pain
Hemp Extract has been traditionally used for thousands of years to treat various types of pain.
Chronic pain is defined as any pain that lasts for three months or more. It can originate in the brain, nerves and muscles or at a site of trauma.
Hemp Extract stimulates the CB2 receptors to block the release of chemical messengers that are causing the inflammation and swelling at the site of injury.
When a nerve is irritated, pinched or injured, the experience is one of burning, sharp, shocking, tingling nerve pain. It is called neuropathy. These neuropathic pain messages are sent from the site of the injury up to the brain, where they are perceived as pain. This is a common condition in diabetes or with herniated disks.
Hemp Extract has been shown to be effective in managing pain in several ways. It interacts with the receptors in the immune system and brain. These receptors are tiny proteins attached to cells that receive a message to respond to chemical signals from different stimuli. When Hemp Extract interacts with these receptors, it creates a pain- relieving and anti-inflammatory effect.
Hemp Extract also works by modifying the perception of pain in the brain. A study showed that Hemp Extract proved to be tenfold more potent than morphine in a wide range of neuron-mediated pain.
Evidence suggests that cannabinoids are beneficial for nerve pain modulation by inhibiting neuronal transmission in pain pathways.
Hemp Extract will also work synergistically with opioids, reducing the need for opioid medication by 30 percent or more.
Hemp Extract can be used in a topical application to treat localized pain, inflammation and swelling. For a more systemic effect, it is recommended to take an oral Hemp Extract formula as well as a topical formula.
